Configuring additional wireless temperature stations

Post by greenosity »

I'm a new Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus owner with an additional wireless temperature station and I'm trying to decide on the software I want to use.
  1. Does Cumulus support additional temperature sensors and if so, how do you configure them?
  2. Will Cumulus report additional sensor readings to Weather Underground?
  3. Will Cumulus graph all temperature sensors' histories for comparison?
Thanks

Not currently, but it probably will eventually.
Will Cumulus report additional sensor readings to Weather Underground?
Yes, when it supports them.
Will Cumulus graph all temperature sensors' histories for comparison?
Probably.

Steve,

Thanks for the very quick reply.

I'm curious.. I'm also trying out a different application on my Mac and it's the same for that one: it doesn't support extra sensors yet but I'm told a future beta release will. Since I'm a brand new Vantage Pro2 user, I have little experience with weather stations so please pardon my ignorance. :? Are extra sensors for personal weather stations a fairly recent concept? Two different applications I'm looking at both currently don't support extra sensors but plan to. Heck, even the Davis Vantage Pro2 Console won't give me past days highs and lows for TEMP 2 - and it's their own product!

I don't think they're a recent thing, but probably the majority of owners don't have them. I don't, which is why I didn't put in support for them. Bear in mind that I originally wrote Cumulus just for myself, and adding new features takes time, given that I do it all in my spare time.

I understand. If I were writing software initially for myself, I would no doubt take the same approach.

Thanks again
