something wrong with rainfall results

Today (March 31st) I looked at rainfall for this month and saw 2.1mm
screen 1.png
when I look at the stats for the month I see (as expected) 37.3mm
screen 2.png
It seems to me something is wrong with the rainfall for display (and the site feeds too as its wrong on the web site).

I also ran an averages and extremes for 1/3/2010 to 31/3/2010 and its comes up with a 'months' rainfall of 26.4 NOT the 37.3 of the 'This Month' display above
screen 3.png
Checked all dates and times etc and cant see anything odd but it does look to me as though the main display (and web feeds) have reset the monthly rainfall yesterday as though it thinks March is only 30 days long?

Anyone else seen this?

Cumulus 1.8.8b881

It looks like you've been having problems with the clock on your station. This does seem to happen quite often with La Crosse stations, although when I've seen this before the clock has been reset to the year 2000. Yours seems to be close to the current date.

This is dayfile.txt, a bit of a mess, due to problems with the date read from the station:

27/03/10,11.4,247,13:45,5.5,23:44,14.9,13:25,1000.7,00:03,1011.0,23:25,0.0,00:00,0.0,9.5,22.5

When you started Cumulus at 10:13 this morning, the station clock was apparently reading 09:39 on the 1st May:

2010-03-31 10:13:45 : WS2300 History Details: Data: 3B 90 01 39 09 01 05 10 5D AF
2010-03-31 10:13:45 : interval=60 countdown=26 numrecords=175
2010-03-31 10:13:45 : hr=9 min=39 d=1 m=5 y=2010

Similarly, when you started Cumulus at 14:05 yesterday, the station clock was apparently reading 13:39 on the 28th April:

2010-03-28 14:05:20 : WS2300 History Details: Data: 3B 10 02 39 13 28 04 10 19 AF
2010-03-28 14:05:20 : interval=60 countdown=34 numrecords=175
2010-03-28 14:05:20 : hr=13 min=39 d=28 m=4 y=2010

Could you have a look at the console and see what date and time it is currently showing?

The problems with the station date seem to have started when BST started. But looking back, even before then the station clock seems to have been an hour or so out, e.g showing 20:40 at 21:18.

2010-03-12 21:18:46 : WS2300 History Details: Data: 3B 50 01 40 20 12 03 10 AE AF
2010-03-12 21:18:46 : interval=60 countdown=22 numrecords=175
2010-03-12 21:18:46 : hr=20 min=40 d=12 m=3 y=2010

Station clock is time correct 11:37 but date is May 1st by the look of it :(

I guess its a matter of writing off the data files and restarting or trying to paste them back together

It's tricky. All the data will be there but anything read from the archive data will be incorrectly timestamped. You would have to work out the correct timestamp for each entry in the monthly logs, and also recreate the dayfile.txt entries.

I'll look into flashing an error if the La Crosse station clock is a long way off the current time, past or future.

If by "reset" you mean start again from scratch, then yes. But do you really want to do that just for a few days of data?
