Extremely cold here as well this winter. Even colder than last year. I'm surprised that PA is colder than the Bangor, Maine area but apparently that is the case.
Where's that "global warming" that I keep hearing is going to kill us all at any moment?

Stay warm all,

Coming up to 6 years of recording so a new all-time record is quite rare. Quite surprising that yesterday's wind broke the all-time wind run record especially when it wasn't caused by a big fast-moving Atlantic depression.
Previous record was 402 miles on 5 Jan 2012 when we were battered by a big storm.

Mine did the same, but I am not in the same league because we are in a valley and the winds tend to go over the top of us.
Highest Wind Gust 31.1 mph at 02:30 on 31 March 2015
Highest Wind Speed Average 11.4 mph at 18:41 on 09 January 2015
Highest Daily Wind Run 104.6 miles on 31 March 2015

Only a new monthly record but in 6 years of recording, last Saturday, 2nd May my station had the lowest maximum temperature since I started keeping records in May 2009.
Just 9.7°C.

Today wasn't much better with 10.7°C.

Pretty miserable start to May eh Mark? At least the weather will be better tomorrow so voters can get out.

New All-Time Record overnight. Lowest it dropped was 20.0°C at 02:32 beating the previous record of 19.6 set way back in July 2009.
I'm sure my station won't be alone in the UK. No chance of a repeat tonight as a cold front will be passing through this afternoon.

Nine days ago the max was 15.8C here. This heat has arrived very quickly so you don't get much of a chance to adjust to it. No air-cond for most Brits so sleeping is not always easy. It's not always the heat but the humidity and today is quite energy sapping.
But it's better than cloud and rain.

Yes Ray I know exactly where you are coming from, Humidity is the Killer - hence the reason I left Qld and moved to Dry WA/North, alas with big aircons one tends to live inside in that heat and not venture out. So Compromise was mid ground with Cold / Warm down in Tassie where one can don a Jacket and venture out into the Paddock and when it warms (without humidity like in QLD) take the shirt off and do the same. Gotta love where ever you are though

Oh Somewhere between 2 and 5 c here tonight with snow on high peaks - Champion.

I'm not sure I could cope with Queensland's climate with all year warmth and humidity. I suppose the lack of snow and ice would be attractive though.
Tasmania is the furthest from the equator so you get conventional seasons. Better than the south of England! No wonder you're pleased.
