53mph here too Mark but the 56mph last February remains my highest. Surprised it was that high if I'm honest. Temp dropped from 9 to 5 in 30 mins. Two more cold fronts to come through in next 24 hours.

Well, January didn't set any all time records, but it set a few new monthly ones. Unseasonally warm at the beginning of the month, and an unexpected wind gust on the 28th that equalled my all time record.

You can keep it!
You're about a six hour ride N-NE of us here and the coldest I've been since(oddly enough) Feb. 2011 is -32.6C back in Jan of 2014

My previous coldest temp was also in 2014 @ -30.7 on Jan 11. It has been colder here this winter, but with less snow than the last few years. Hopefully you are far enough south of Lake Erie to have avoided the drubbing that Buffalo received earlier this winter.

Setting some all time station records this evening (previous record -26.2c) -
Lowest Temperature -27.6 °C at 10:17 PM on 15 February 2015
Lowest Dew Point -30.0 °C at 10:19 PM on 15 February 2015
Lowest Apparent Temperature -31.4 °C at 10:17 PM on 15 February 2015
and maybe still lower to go into Monday morning...
Good thing the winds are calm or our wind chill would have the bottom falling off.

I've had three new records in the past 3 days.
Low temperature -9.0 °F Saturday, February 14, 2015 4:12 AM
Low wind chill -20.2 °F Sunday, February 15, 2015 9:08 PM
Low dew point -33.1 °F Monday, February 16, 2015 4:58 AM
Like much of the NorthEast we had a very windy cold day yesterday here. I suspect Windchill in the area was into the -30F's or lower, some areas North of me in Mass recorded -40F windchills. My wind gauge is somewhat sheltered as I'm in the middle of the woods and the tree line is well above the house, dulling much of the wind and wind gusts.
We're remaining in this cold snap throughout this week as well, it stared Thursday Feb. 12th. Thursday Feb 19th shows another day where the low will be -6F or less. It was -6F last night as well.
...To boot my weather pretty much shows why we use the Fahrenheit system here

My record low is -9.0F and my record high is 96.3F / Heat Index 106.9F. (0 is about as cold as it gets, 100 is about as hot as it gets).

Low temperature -9.2 °F Saturday, February 21, 2015 6:12 AM
This has been one cold month. So far in February alone we've had 7 days below 0F, with 4 of those being in a row (13th to 18th). Also, we've had 14 out of the 21 days so far not even get above freezing, with none over 38F. January we had one day below 0F. NWS for Albany has reported this winter as being the 20th highest number of days below 0F going back to the 1880's, and we still have a month to go.

My station record is still -29.8 °C from a few days ago, but historical area temperatures are being broken on many days all around Southwestern Ontario. My station lows for the last 10 days are -
-25.2 -29.0 -22.7 -19.2 -20.2 -29.8 -28.5 -16.2 -24.2 and -20.7 °C (yes we had one day all the way up, or is that down?, into the minus teens -16.2)
and the daily highs -
-15.7 -13.1 -8.7 -7.9 -13.4 -13.7 -5.2 -3.9 -14.2 and today may get to -9 °C
The longest -20s cold spell I can recall.

Hopefully I can report that these will be the coldest readings for the year(or ever). Here's my new records set this month.
Lowest Temperature -29.7 °F at 7:19 AM on 16 February 2015
Lowest Dewpoint -34.7 °F at 7:19 AM on 16 February 2015
Lowest Apparent Temp -36.7 °F at 7:19 AM on 16 February 2015
Lowest Wind Chill -29.7 °F at 7:19 AM on 16 February 2015
And here's a look from my NOAA reports for the first two months of this year.
Not one day with the low above freezing and waaaaaaaaaaaaay to many dark blues the last couple of weeks. We actually haven't had a low above freezing since the day after Christmas last year, or 62 consecutive days.
Think Spring
