New Record? Post here.
. . . and now the lowest pressure record has been broken this morning at 966.5 hpa
These recent low pressure systems seem to be coming over a little further south than previously.

Re: New Record? Post here.
New wind gust record of 55.5 mph !
New average wind speed of 42.4 mph
Cumulus now showing a new scale. (I wondered what would happen if the speed went over 50 mph.)

Re: New Record? Post here.
All-time low pressure of 964.1 just recorded and it's still dropping fast.
And what a coincidence. Exactly 2 years ago my station's highest pressure was recorded...

Mark / Mike,
I imagine a lot of stations in the UK will share our unusual records. Only 365 to 1.

Re: New Record? Post here.
Yes, same here. All time record of 963.6 at 1558. Now rising slowly. Interesting that this low hasn't been followed by a sudden short but marked increase in pressure, before falling back to near the lowest value before steadily rising out of the depression. That 'shoulder' or 'bump' was a noticeable feature of the last two or three serious lows we've had since mid-December.

Re: New Record? Post here.
Mike,
Pressure is reluctant to rise here too. The low is drifting slowly north rather than east. That probably explains it. I think another one is due on Tuesday but probably not as intense.
Thanks for the PM. I'll reply later tomorrow.
