As predicted I have a new record of 27 days of continuous wet days from 12th Dec to 7th Jan. (>0.1mm) No day has recorded less than 2.8mm during that time. The average daily rainfall during this period is 7.3mm

There is every chance this will continue for at least the next 3 days.

Hit quite a few records the other day.... Other parts of the US had much colder temperatures, in my state even it got down to -12F in a few spots. My windchill is most likely off as well as my Wind Gauge isn't in a very good location and only catches gusts from North or South. Most likely was closer to a -20F (-28.9C) or -25F (-31.7C) windchill.

Thats:
Lowest Temperatures: -8.9F or -22.7C
Lowest Wind Chill: -15.5F or -26.4C
Lowest Apparent Temp: -16.7F or -27C
Lowest Maximum: 10.6F or -11.9C

28 days continuous 'wet days' now. A lot will depend on catching a shower, or not in the next few days if it is to continue. I may catch up with you yet William! North Devon tends to get a bit more rain than South Devon! 8-)

Another type of record is that I've had a couple of full days of sunshine in our recent cold spell - 100% on January 3rd and 7th, for the first time since installation of the Blake-Larsen Sunrecorder in May 2011 http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/su ... ay_v1.html. There may have been full days before but during other times the sunrise and sunset are not fully visible by my sensor location due to trees and building obstruction.

It certainly isn't as exciting as sub-zero temperatures, or sweltering heatwaves, but I now have had 29 'wet' days. It has already rained today meaning that Friday will be 30 days. Saturday might break this trend, but the next front may get here before midnight! We will see.

It has also been 45 days since the last air frost. That's a record for winter months here. Last year there was a gap of 35 days between frosts at around the same time.

It has just started to rain again here today, my new record is 24 days, breaking the previous record before this wet spell by 4 days... and it could rain again for the next two/three days.

Hit an all time record low temperature last night since I started collecting data in 2012, of 18.2°C (65°F) at 5:48 AM Jan. 12, 2014.

So cold!!
