Agreed, and same here. Cold and snowy, just like it should be. This is after all a winter country too - though people seem to forget that in the fall...

I do embrace it, except that it's a bit too cold - for me - to go about cross country skiing that I really want to do :P

I'm located a little north of Oslo.

I know what that's like. I've seen worse in Ottawa when I was there... 42 in the shade and the wind coming from Lake Ontario.
But the 47 in Sidney was not humidex, it was actual 47 degrees Celcius. In the shade. With 95% humidity. One shudders to think what kind of humidex that would work out to... lemme calculate...

oh f***.

Ninety seven celcius. I guess the Pacific must've been filled to capacity with people trying not to die from heat stroke. That would actually not be possible.

Lemme check Wunderground...

OK, that's better. The worst I've found is a heat index of 52. Which is still bl00dy dangerous.

Ah... finally. A record that doesn't make my records look pathetic ;-)

(in the Krommerijnstreek, we registered a lowest maximum of -3.3°C on Jan. 17, 12:15.)
Still doesn't mean much, as the station has been in use for less than a month now.

I've recorded two new station records during the past two weeks. ;)

1.) Lowest Minimum with -10.3°C on 26th January at 05:56, (and this was also the first time
i have registered a negative two digit temperature since i have the station in use (March 2012)

2.) Lowest Maximum with -4.7°C on 16th January at 13:49.

These two are not new site records though not even for January, for this we have to beat
a low of -12.1°C (registered on 26th January 2010) and a low maximum of -7.9°C (24th January 2010), both had been recorded with my old WS2300 weather station.

Ex cyclone Oswald moved down the east queensland coast bringing flooding rain and dangerous winds.

With my all time records a few records have been broken. The station used with Cumulus under recorded the rain and the wind but I did correct the readings for the wind. However my manual rain gauge with my manual records did measure the correct amount.

-Highest Daily Wind Run of 376.5 km on 27 January, previous record was 168.6 km on 22 November 2011
- Highest Daily Rainfall of 271.3mm on 27 January , previous record was 142.5 on 25 January 2012 (measured as the 24 hrs to 9am using a manual rain gauge with my manual records , but Cumulus is midinght to midnight.)
-Highest Wind Gust of 71.6km/hr on 27 January, previous record was 50.4 km/hr on 16 October 2010 at 3:51am (as recorded by my manual record as this occured before the start of using Cumulus in October 2011. Also broke the record for the average wind speed with 40.9 km/hr, previous record was 40.6km/hr on 11 November 2011.
