Just set my station's all-time high temperature at 13.1c for January and also broke our area's historical record for January 12th (previous 11c). Snow quickly melting

Not quite a record yet, started recording late December 2012, but I'm hitting -19.9C (record is -20.4C) at the moment, been over 80% humidity the last week, and my sensors are looking funky :]

Still, they both work, recording wind and bearing.. Even though it's been almost no wind the last week. 2km wind run today, 3 km yesterday.

Those wind sensors are da bomb! :D

Methinks your low temp record is bound to be broken tonight.

A new pressure trend record of -2,0 hPa/h and it will be beaten in the next few hours. 997,2mb falling very rapidly.

I'm amazed with the FO's performance through this, not a single signal failure.

What I find amazing is that your lowest and highest pressure occured on the same date 1 year and only 4 minutes apart. Spooky!

Set a new station (since July 2008) all time wind record this morning -
Highest wind gust 74.9 km/h - previous 66.4
Highest wind speed 36.4 km/h - previous 29.9

Quite a drastic change from last evening http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... ONTARIO226

I see your wind meter is about to freeze, so no 'Windchill' factors I assume????

That's the issue here......
Winnipeg has 'Wind Warnings' with a Windchill temp of -45 to -50 C (skin freezes in 5 minutes.......)
Closer to home (on my station) the deep-freeze is slowly making its entrance. Daily high around - 13 C
Last night - 20 C (Windchill) but tonight this is gonna be the 'real temp' and windchills in the order of -30 C.......
Wish I could change the - into +, like in Sydney :D

Cheers,

Arthur

Arthur, think twice... just a couple days ago, Sydney registered 47 degrees (yes, Celcius), with 95% humidity.

You'd die, I guess. I would.

Not really been any wind the last weeks, no. And quite happy about that. Just checked the anemometer, not frozen actually. Just... Completely calm.
Wouldn't like your windchills ;)

Well...........We've had +45 Humidex in Toronto, summer 2012 for quite a few days......

At least your skin doesn't freeze in 5 minutes, being outside :D
Actually, it's the coldest we've had for 2 years in Toronto (last winter was a farce with no snaow and mild temp).
So, back to the 'real' Canadian Winter (as many people see Canada as land of Ice and Snow ;)

Cheers,

Arthur
