8 year old iPad might be the problem with this javascript driven website.
Not sure by highly probable.
Thanks Hans. I suspected that might be the issue. I’m running v12.5.5.

Andy, my ageing iPad is probably the cause.

It is still dry in the Channel Islands, so far we are up to 40 consecutive days with no rain. This is on top of 28 days of no rain in April / May and with a low rainfall year.

So far the total rain this year is 229.6 mm which is about 200 mm short of the year to date norm.

Everywhere is looking stressed, trees are shedding leaves and the fields are like dust. However, the local desalination plant is working which gives us about 50% of the daily island water consumption so whilst the reservoirs are falling they are not empty.

It looks like we still have at least another week of no rain, the tourists will love it.

Andy, yesterday’s forecast for the weekend and into next week suggest low pressure over France will mean thundery showers developing and drifting north towards England and Wales.

You have a reasonable chance of rain by Monday onwards.

A different type of new record was set yesterday. Five consecutive days where the max exceeded 30°C. The August max of 32.3°C set back in 2020 was equalled yesterday.

The heatwave is now over here in Cheshire. Current temp is 23°C - far more comfortable. :D

Not an all-time record but a new monthly one. A cold front with a squall line embedded in it passed through NW England today. It didn’t help I was out in it at the time. :x

0.47” in one hour makes it the highest rainfall in one hour for over 13 years.

New daily record of lightning strikes detected - currently at 400. Old record was 300.

Unbelievable strike rate to the south of me, for October, that is.

Well in Jersey we had two thunderstorms today the first at about 5am and the second this afternoon at about 2pm. It has been fairly unusual to get any thunderstorms on the island, they normally pass by 15 miles away on the Normandy coast.

With that line of storms that just went through, I recorded over 550 strikes. 708 is the daily total!

As I watched the storm pass through on blitzortung I guessed you may hit a high. Only skimmed past us in Dorchester some 20 miles away and I only logged 93!!

Hi there

Well in Jersey, November 2022 was rather damp. The total rain for the month was 212.4 mm which when compared to the total annual rainfall for the year to date of 583.0 mm equals 36.4%. The wettest day recorded 48.9 mm on 3 November. The average rainfall for November for the past 10 years is 129.5 mm.

It is all very odd given the very dry summer there were two long dry spells in April/May 28 dry days and July/August 45 dry days. The temperature for the year to date is 2.7C above the long term average.

It seems like the climate is changing and we are all recording its effects.
