We had a low of -8.5C here in Antrobus, Cheshire - beating the previous record set yesterday (-7.7C). Three days now without the temp getting above freezing! It's supposed to achieve that feat by the weekend - allegedly.

Interesting, -9.6C here but we have been above freezing a few times each day, 3C above today actually. I thought you were in the east getting a beating from the snow - but no, Cheshire is in the northwest of Englandshire apparently.

It got down to -11.5 C just before dawn here today. We live on an east facing slope which doesn’t help either

Not quite as cold as you but I had -10.7°C, coldest ever since my records began in April 2016. This in Cholsey, South Oxfordshire.

Not as cold as above temps but a record for me with-9.7C on the 13th with a low avg. midnight to midnight of -6.95C, checking temps on wow this morning for the central belt of Scotland showed readings of 0 to -11C but one stood out and is deff. bigger than your's at a sweltering 22C.

My December record of -9.9°C recorded on 20 Dec 2010 remains the lowest for this month. Only -8.8°C overnight. The all-time low of -11.1°C on 7 Jan 2010 is not in danger … yet.

-8.2c on the 15th Dec was the second coldest since i began my records in 2000. This is still some way short of my lowest temperature in December 2010 where I recorded -13.6c.

For the second year in a row the Netherlands is breaking its temperature records (17°C in the South to 14.7°C on my station in the North) for the 31st.
So Wagenborgen broke the record from 13.3°C to 14.7°C (may rise even higher).

Even having only a 4 year series, there are national records, for the south, centre and north of the country. It really is warm.
We can go out without coats, a week ago we were all skating.
A disadvantage and probably favoured by the weather is the huge number of people with flew over here.

January 1 was recorded in Poland as the warmest day in January in the entire history of meteorological measurements. The maximum temperature was recorded in the capital - Warsaw - at the climatic station at the Okecie airport and amounted to 18.9°C . Absolute records were broken in many cities. At my station too, and now the record for January is 15.3°C . I have been measuring for 11 years.

I wore short sleeves outside .

Edit:
After verification of data from lower-level stations, the official Tmax record for Poland in January is 19,0°C . The record was recorded at the Jodłownik station.

Well in Jersey, Channel Islands, the max temp on Jan 1 was 12.7c which is 2c above the long term average. Still moderated by the cool seas surrounding the island.

My real record for 2022 was the relative lack of rain, my recorded rainfall for the year was 685.4mm against a long term annual average of 887.8mm. This was after two drought periods in the year in April / May (28 days) and July / August (45 days) and a very wet November with 212.4mm or 31% of the annual rainfall in the month.
