Hello there,
I have downloaded Cumulus onto my new Windows Home Server and connected my Watson W-8681 Weather Station to it by USB. But no joy so far.
I have entered USB in the VP Type in the Station Settings in the Configuration Menu. But there is something I am not not doing as the wet, stormy night outside is not registering on my Cumulus Display.
Any ideas please?
Oileannach.

Could you zip up the diags folder and attach it, please?
There are a number of people using Cumulus with Windows Home Server, including myself, so it should work - but I don't actually have my Fine Offset station connected to it. You don't need to choose the VP type, that's for Davis Vantage Pro stations, just selecting the Fine Offset station type should be sufficient. Can you see the station as a Human Interface Device in Device Manager? It won't be named, but it will have a vendor ID of hex 1941 and a product ID of hex 8021.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for coming back to me.
I am really going back to basics on this - this is the HP Mediasmart Server EX490 which was brought out of its box yesterday evening. I have searched for a Device Manager without any joy. How to access I have no idea as I know this server sits on WHS but how to access that side of it, I am at a loss.
I'll play with through the night to see if I can get into it.
Getting Cumulus working on this would really make my day.
Rgds.

To be able to install "normal" applications on WHS, you have to log in to the box and then use it just as you would uses XP, for example. Then you can use device manager etc just as you would on XP. You can't do it from the standard WHS console. But note that this goes against Microsoft recommendations.
Actually, you've installed Cumulus, so I guess you know this already! The best way forward for now is to zip up the diags folder and attach them here.
