N displaying as 360° rather than 0°

Post by Dawadderman »

I may have missed it in the configuaration somewhere, but in the station display (in my case using Davis VP2) - and perhaps elsewhere - is there a way of ensuring that exactly N displays as 360° rather than 0°?
0 degrees (together with 0 speed) is usually used for calm.

It always uses 360 for North. Optionally, you can make the 'instantaneous' bearing show zero when the wind is calm by setting "use bearing zero when calm" in the station settings. The calculated average bearing will always be zero when the wind is calm because it takes wind speed into account, but otherwise, if the calculated average is North it uses 360.

That's how it's supposed to work, anyway; do you think it isn't doing that?

Thanks for that Steve.
:bash: My fault - what I thought was a zero turned out to be a six! Perhaps I do need a new pair of glasses - or move my screen to a different place where it is not against the strong contrast of light from the window!

Really like the software - very easy to set up, use and is very versatile.

You can change the orange digits to a different colour in the display settings, if that helps :)

If you do spot anywhere Cumulus isn't doing the correct thing, meteorologically speaking, please do point them out. It's my intention that Cumulus behaves "professionally" as far as possible. I know there are lots of areas where it could do better (like the 'snapshot' behaviour of the logs), but I hope to get around to sorting these out eventually.
