Radio controlled time and date

Post by Master120 »

Is it possible to turn off the radio controlled time and date on ws2350?
Nothing in manual about this.

AGAIN my date was wrong (year 2040).
This ruins the statistics in database, now I have a big JAN40LOG.TXT whith a lot of data that can not be used.

I suspect that the clock gets all wrong when it is set by this radiosignal.
My station is too faar from Germany, signal is not strong enough, station not near window.

I don't think so, you can't with the Fine Offset, but could you disconnect the aerial in the receiver?

Is it possible without messing up data in any way to manually edit the mar10log.txt?
If I would copy data from jan40log.txt and change date and time.

Is this the only file where cumulus searches for data when creating graphs etc.

There shouldn't be a problem, if you know the correct dates and times, to just insert the data into the correct file (with Cumulus stopped).

It also uses dayfile.txt (the daily summaries), so ideally you would need to manually create an entry for each day - assuming your incorrectly dated data spans more than one day.

Ive had this sort of problem 3 or 4 times in the last couple of months, usually the time going out. I cant say if its the radio controlled clock picking up the wrong time or a corrupt time or if it's just the clock going wrong but it's becoming a real pain and ruins the data capture abilities of the unit (the data logger).

There is no option I can find to disable the radio clock and I cant find any reference to modifying the unit to disable it.

I don't think there are many (any) options really in terms of fixing it, does any one have an experience or ideas?

I have a La Crosse 2350 weather station and the time and date does go wrong from time to time. A little annoying but then I just manually reset the date and/or time to the correct one. I have another weather station which was very cheap from comet and this picks up and date and time correctly and has never gone wrong.

Another irritation with the 2350!!
