Current Year Records feature

Post by RayProudfoot »

Hi Steve,

Looking at Cumulus web pages there's one feature which I think would further enhance it. We have All Time Records but once a station has been running a while it takes something exceptional for those to change.

Could we also have Current Year Records? Those would be very useful to website visitors.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

It's a good idea, and I think it was in C2, so hopefully it can make it to C1

I do it currently on my site, but I upload all the data to an SQL database on the server and query that so I can see some key info on a specific year (or day if I wish)

It wouldn't be too hard to do; just clone the all-time records code and have a set of records which get reset at the start of the year. Not difficult, just tedious.

David,

Thanks. As someone who has used Access for 15 years the idea of having all my data in a database on the server interests me. I'm not familiar with SQL databases but the principle of selecting records remains the same whatever the vehicle.

It's something I want to get into once I have more time (post retirement probably).

Steve, I appreciate it will be tedious but you only need to do it once and everyone benefits. ;)
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

And sometimes, doing something that doesn't require too much thought is good for a change :)
