Recording Interval

Hi
Is it possible to record all the windspeed data - I think the w8681 sends data about every 20 seconds. For the purpose of comparing background sound levels to the windspeed I need to record all the data that is sent so can I set cumulus to record less than 1minute intervals - or maybe there is another way ?
Regards
Alan

Hi Alan,

As far as we can tell, The Transmitter sends Data to the Console every 48seconds.

After observing the Console for 5mins, I can see that it is every 48seconds.

I am not aware of any known method of adjustment for Transmission Frequency (I.E How many seconds between Data Packets)

Shame really.

It's every 48 seconds, so 1-minute logging isn't too far off. If it's just for short-term experimentation, you could turn on the debug log; every read gets logged there, but you'd have to extract the wind speed from the raw hex. Note that Cumulus reads the data every 10 seconds because it doesn't know when it's actually going to get updated.

The FineOffset type stations (of which your w8681 is one) only records data every 48 seconds. It can appear that it is more often as Cumulus checks regularly in order to catch the data as quickly as possible when it is available on the station.

LOL -- we all answered that one! At least we were consistent.

Hi All
Thanks for the quick replies - I realise now it is 48 not 18 - I can't count at the end of a long week !! So I guess 1 minute will have to suffice.

Thanks Again
Alan
