It's because of the double quotes that are (necessarily) in the webcam and/or forum web tags. If you change the PHP template to use single quotes for those items, that should fix it.

Thank You. That corrected the problem. (My apologies, I realize I probably posted this in the wrong area of the forum)

I've modified the PHP file on the wiki to use single quotes for forum and webcam tags for now -- until we decide if we should be all one or the other setting!

Moved the topic too

The next build of Cumulus will have ' for the minutes symbol in the latitude and longitude tags.

Steve may I suggest that the double quote (in the $forum and $Webcam webtags) be replaced by the " code - in the same way you are using the ° code in the $latitude and $longitude webtags.

With that change, either the single quote or the double quote can be used in the 'cumuluswebtags.php' file.

That won't work, because as I said in the other thread, the double quote in those is part of the HTML syntax.

I have only just got round to downloading the toolbox. I thought it may be handy for the email part of it so I could send out alerts ( rather sadly to myself mainly ) or perhaps it could send me a text !

Anyway its downloaded, email test worked and appears to work, Anyone worked out how to send a text message to a mobile phone ?

I was also a little confused with this cumuluswebtag.php I have followed the instructions but how do I know if its working
http://www.bramptonweather.co.uk/cumulu ... ebtags.php - just appears blank on my screen ?

any help greatfully received

It is not available yet within Toolbox -- some mobile providers offer an email to text service so that would work if you have such a service.

That said, I have it working on my version of Toolbox (actually it was the first thing I did in Toolbox) however I wondered about the need for it given so many people can access email from their mobiles. However I accept texting has it's place. My next hurdle is cost -- Toolbox can send a text message but I have to pay for the option of sending via the network's gateway. How do I then implement a payment system into Toolbox? Would people want to pay for texting?

The webtags are basically a list of variables and not designed to view on a page. In theory you should be able to do this...
http://www.bramptonweather.co.uk/cumulu ... ource=view
You can see I added a little command at the end. The script sometimes does not show for some odd reason, however I can see here that yours does and the data is fine.

Toolbox does not need the tags uploaded to the website so if you are not using them on the website, do not upload them.

You can also check within Toolbox if the values are valid...

Create or Edit a Rule, select a tag and if Toolbox shows a value then the PHPwebtags file is working just fine
(Screen shot shows a reg arrow where a value would be)

Thanks for the quick response.

I have set up a few rules and the data is appearing and correct so it must be setup right - thanks. I didnt realise that I wrongly assumed it was obtaining the data direct from my console !!

TEXT messages - look forward to seeing this as an option. I dont use my phone for emails occassionally check my weather data via wap but nothing more. I,m sure there must be some free out there than can generate a text message from an email. I know I get facebook messages via text automatically so there may be a way, sadly I dont know how facebook manages it ?

I'm not right into Facebook, but I do no that I have been able to send messages and photo's to Facebook, unfortunately in Australia (at least), we only get SMS notification through Telstra or Optus, and I'm with Virgin. However, you can update to FACEBOOK via Cumulus! However.....when you do a test email it sends a subject line which then posts this as an update. Good! But, when it sends an email when it satisfies a rule it sends it in the text area with no Subject, thus not showing up in Facebook.

What we need Toolbox to do is send the email with the information in the "Subject" heading. Any possibility of being able to add a picture to the email?

What is happening when in the Toolbox rules it has no "Add/Edit" buttons?
And before I deleted the rule that was in there I couldn't edit it? It didn't show that it was reading the Php file by showing any values.
These are the files I have:
Cumuluswebtags.txttmp and .phptmp and .php. Is this right?
