Hi, I have just been trying out Virtual VP, and it seems to have changed the way Cumulus is plotting it's graphs.
I attach my wind graph :
I plot the peak gust rather than use the option "plot latest gust", so none of my settings have changed.

Re: Virtual VP
I think I know what's happening, it seems Virtual VP is feeding in data to cumulus more often than the data updates. Because during the period between 'real console updates', I see the average windspeed and average bearing changing. Hmmm...

Good thinking Steve, it never crossed my mind!steve wrote:Have you changed VP2SleepInterval?
I'll change to VP2SleepInterval = 1100 as suggested in Wiki. Thanks

Re: Virtual VP
My Fujitsu Lifebook's HD failed yesterday so I decided it was time for a new laptop to run my Davis VP2. I downloaded the latest Cumulus version 1.8.9 and installed onto the new Toshiba and discovered the wind graphs were looking very chunky like in the image above, with the gust peaks lasting 10 minutes, something that was not happening previously. I did not need "VP2SleepInterval = 1100" on the Lifebook, but have just included that line in the .ini file now.
I'll know if it made any difference shortly.

Re: Virtual VP
No, that didnt help at all, the wind display is still very chunky. What else could it be? I have changed the "calculate 10 min average" and "use speed for average calculation" boxes, but that made no difference. What else might be causing the chunky display? The temerature and other graphs seem good, its just the wind that is chunky.
TIA, Gordon

Re: Virtual VP
If you want to change that, you probably need the 'plot latest gust' setting in the display settings.Gordon-Loomberah wrote:with the gust peaks lasting 10 minutes
Are you using Virtual VP?I did not need "VP2SleepInterval = 1100" on the Lifebook, but have just included that line in the .ini file now.
