Wind Speed Difference Cumulus and WH1081

Post by nking »

I rarely look at the display/logger on my WH1081 but I’ve noticed a strange anomaly. The display/logger wind speed is approx. half that reported by Cumulus. I do have the wind speed multiplier set to 1.15 due to the lower height of the anemometer but I can’t understand how this would account for the difference. I’ve set the multiplier back to 1 but this has made little difference as I would have expected. The wind speed reported by Cumulus is what I would expect based upon other station’s wind speeds in close proximity but it is an odd situation that at the moment defies logic. Any one else observed similar behaviour or perhaps have a logical explanation for the difference. :?

It certainly does  . I've now set up the display/logger to show Gust speed to avoid future confusion. Thanks again and apologies for not checking FAQ first :bash:
