Days since last rain

A mate of mine has given me his code to calculate the number of days between 2 dates, which I wanted to use to display the number of days since last rain, something we're quite interested in here in the dryer locations.

I see there is no webtag for the date of the last rain and after searching I see someone asked if this would be a possible enhancement last March, is there any update on this?

It needs a bit of thinking about. The quick easy way is to trawl through the dayfile each time the tag is processed looking at the rain totals, but clearly that's not a good way of doing it. It really needs a couple of variables - days since last rain, and current number of consecutive rain days - which need to be maintained in real time, so I need to think about how to do that.
