Davis Weather Monitor II
Hello all,
I have just stumbled upon this software and are using it at home on my Oregon WMR928, I am very impressed with this free product.
The address for the online feed of my home station is http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~mattb/wx/
At my local volunteer fire station we use a Davis Weather Monitor II, is it possible to use Cumulus with this model of Weather station ?? If not does anyone know of any other free software that they could recommend for us.
Thanks
Matt

Not at the moment. It's possible that it will one day, as the protocol is available and similar to the VP protocol. But by the time I get around to it there probably won't be any of them left!mattb wrote:At my local volunteer fire station we use a Davis Weather Monitor II, is it possible to use Cumulus with this model of Weather station ??

Ok, thanks for that Steve. I wonder if anyone else can recommend any other free software that will work with the WM II.

Re: Davis Weather Monitor II
I would also be interested in using this software with a Davis Weather Monitor II station. I have one up and running in Sebastian, FL using Ambient's software at the moment. However, the Davis Weather Monitor II stations are still around and can be found, in some cases, brand new in the original packaging, ready to go to work. I just recently found one of these gems and it will be installed at a buddy's house in Jacksonville, FL in the near future. This particular weather station is a tried and true work horse. They work reliably for years. That's probably why they're not around anymore. Davis should never have discontinued them!

Just a quick observation for you about your weather site, your webcam link is pointing to Steve's Sanday webcam, don't know if it's intentional or not?

That's the default until you set it to something different.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

Re: Davis Weather Monitor II
I would like to see the Cumulus software ported for the Davis Weather Monitor II. My station has been up for over 11 years and hasn’t had any problems except for wild life. ( Have to clean it up once in awhile.) I like the clean look to the screens of the Cumulus program. Keep us WMII users in mind, I'll bet that there are a bunch of WMII still out there spinning away.

And another hand up for Cumulus Monitor II support. My old MII shows no signs of dying any time soon. Thanks.
