Alltime records edit
Hello, everybody!
I have one question, or problem, call that as u want. When i open cumulus, and go to edit option and choose to edit alltime records, when i try edit for example temperature from 35°C to 34 °C, all alltime log get insane and show me 99999°C, in all fields. What is all about? Why i get these numbers?
Could i edit alltime records with some software, by directly editing alltime file, not with cumulus edit option?
Thanks for answer!

Re: Alltime records edit
I'm afraid I don't know why that's happening, I don't think anyone else has ever reported that problem. Are the 99999 figures in the editor, or later when you try to look at them from the view menu? You're using Vista - where have you installed Cumulus?
Could you attach your alltime.rec file, please (best to zip it first).
It's a binary file, so it's not easy to edit outside Cumulus.

Re: Alltime records edit
Hello Steve
I can reproduce.
I am also not able to edit these settings with the same result.
In most cases, after I inserted a new value into these fields, the value changes to 99999 after I quit this imput field.
OS = windows 2003 Server.
sometime it works but mostly it fails editing the records.

Re: Alltime records edit
This is going to be tricky, because it works fine for me and always has done. Is it to do with a comma for a decimal, I wonder - do both of you use commas?

Re: Alltime records edit
I tried changing my regional settings and it still works fine for me, so I'm afraid I'm baffled. Some kind of permissions problem, maybe?
I don't even know where the number 99999 is coming from - that number doesn't exist anywhere in Cumulus.

I'm sorry, I can't reproduce that, so I don't know how I'm going to be able to fix it. What happens if you select the contents of the box and overwrite it?
You use decimal points and not commas?

Re: Alltime records edit
Cumulus is offering Dots and not Commas and I am using Points.
this evening I will change my locale to english....
What are you expecting within cumulus? Commas or dots ?
Btw: Also copying values out of the Clipboard into this box results in the same behaviour.

It should use whatever your system is set to.slashmusic wrote:What are you expecting within cumulus? Commas or dots ?
I don't think the locale or the decimal setting is relevant, I've tried quite a few and I still can't reproduce it.

9999 figures later when I try to look at them from the view menu. I installed cumulus in c:\cumulus. View this screenshot that I made. First, screenshot from edit option
I tried to edit All time high daily rain and Highest monthly rainfall, but with no results, always 9999 shows.

on the second screenshot look below right, when i check a cumulus forecast box (again 9999), and close station window, it show me then error message and I must restart cumulus.

And there is alltime records zip.

Thanks!

Re: Alltime records edit
I still can't reproduce that, even using your alltime.rec file.
9999 is the max value for the pressure settings for the forecast, so at least it's possible for the box to display that, but I don't understand why it would. The same for the high daily rain and monthly rain boxes, they have max values of 9999 (not 99999 as you were claiming before).
Perhaps I am not doing the edit in the same way as you. Could you describe exactly what you do when you try to edit the highest monthly rainfall total?

Re: Alltime records edit
Edit - all time records, then I select al number before decimal point with my mouse and try to edit highest monthly rainfall, end insert my numbers, but nothing happens, I can t also insert decimal points or commas.
Do u know why I cant use cumulus forecast without errors?
After the third time of opening edit window, all blocked and show crazy values

Re: Alltime records edit
That still works fine for me. Maybe it's a bug in the edit component which only appears on some systems. I don't know what I can do about it, other than change to a different component, but it's a lot of work to changemeteo wrote:Edit - all time records, then I select al number before decimal point with my mouse and try to edit highest monthly rainfall, end insert my numbers, but nothing happens, I can t also insert decimal points or commas.
Could you try something? I use a different component on the Alarms page; could you try to edit one of the alarm values and see what happens?
Because the code can't cope with having the low and high values the same. I'll fix that (stop it crashing); you can correct the values in cumulus.ini, as the edit box isn't working for you.Do u know why I cant use cumulus forecast without errors?

By the way, could you attach images and files to your posts, please? I'm having trouble with these sites you're using to host the files.
