Problem with localhost
I wanted to see the settings that I have for CUMX V4 b4070 and this is what I get when I do the localhost thing:
This is what I get when I start CUMX off from new:
Also attached are zips of the latest MXdiags files.
Everything else seems to work properly. What have I missed doing please?

Re: Problem with localhost
The Zip files contain incomplete MXDiag files. We need to see a complete one which shows the start up to make sure it is connecting to the station correctly and obtaining data.
Also the picture you have posted is the default web site not Cumulus Dashboard. I would try http://192.168.0.50:8998/ to see what that gives you.

Re: Problem with localhost
I am sorry but you are incorrect, this is the Alternative Interface, what he is showing is definitely the default website.

Re: Problem with localhost
Only way I can see is that he is running a local web server (e.g. Apache) for serving a local website and he has opened 8998 to that server so the request is getting confused!!
That is why I asked for full MXDiags files as the ones he posted are either in the middle or end of the files and do not show the start up.

This is what I get when I try your suggestion in your post cited above.water01 wrote: ↑Mon 17 Feb 2025 8:24 am The Zip files contain incomplete MXDiag files. We need to see a complete one which shows the start up to make sure it is connecting to the station correctly and obtaining data.

I am not running a local server but upload my data to a paid provider.
As for the MXDiags files, I simply zipped the latest ones at the time and then posted them: as to how they are not complete, I really can't throw any light on that. The latest MXDiags files are attached to this in the hope of them being useful in any help you may give me.
Thanks

Re: Problem with localhost
Hi,
The start up as shown in your first attachment seems correct:
It is strange that your local Dashboard starts with the alternate dashboard view. The normal dashboard (black screen with all the tabs including 'Settings') is usually started by url http://localhost:8998/ or http://192.168.0.50:8998/
The alternate dashboard is then usually started by either http://localhost:8998/ai2/index.html or your http://192.168.0.50:8998/ai2/index.html
Did you by change edit the \CumulusMX\interface\index or any other file?
If you do not get the usual dashboard view that has the "Settings' tab then I suggest you copy in the full downloaded/unzipped \CumulusMX\interface folder which should have all the usual and needed files and folders for the local dashboard.
I suggest you find the MXdiags file that has the logging from when you last started CMX, or stop CMX and restart and that will give you a new MXDiags file. It may give some more details on what is occurring.
Enjoy,
Paul
The start up as shown in your first attachment seems correct:

The 4 MXdiags files you have attached are all "rotated log files". that is after the earlier log file when it gets to be large at over 20 mb, then a new file is started to continue on. Unfortunately your attachments do not include the start up period logging when you first start CMX. Most of the settings are in that startup logging until CMX is fully running and updating. As for the MXDiags files, I simply zipped the latest ones at the time and then posted them: as to how they are not complete, I really can't throw any light on that. Re: Problem with localhost
Starnge also that the AI2 is "hammering" MX, it is updating the Davis Stats as fast as it can, less that 0.001 seconds between updates! This flooding the log files and causing the frequent log rotations.
Let's get the default dashboard working as a first step.
There is something wrong with the install. Please find the zip file you downloaded and extract the "/interface" folder (and all sub-folders) from the zip file and overwrite the "/interface" folder in your installation.
Clear your browser cache, then try connecting to http://192.168.0.50:8998/ again.

Re: Problem with localhost
May I suggest running the check of file hashes? It would indicate which files are not in their correct location or are corrupted some way. Unfortunately I do not have a v4 install at hand, so maybe someone else could comment the correct way for Windows user.

I have replaced the "/interface" folder (and all sub-folders) from the zip file and it seems to be working properly.mcrossley wrote: ↑Wed 19 Feb 2025 10:45 am There is something wrong with the install.
