Importing Cumulu (pre XM) date

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Importing Cumulu (pre XM) date

Post by mlucas »

Hello All,

I've been following the migration documentation (https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/Migrating ... us_1_to_MX).

I had to write a script to fix the date/time format in my old Cumulus files to match my Cumulus XM 4 (e.g. 29/05/14).

I put the files into my datav3 folder ran the MigrateData3to4.exe tool which appears to have copied the files correctly into the data folder.

However, after I run CreateMissing.exe, when starting CumulusMX, it throws and exception "String '22/09/2020 10:10:00 AM' was not recognized as a valid DateTime".

I must be doing something wrong. What is the best way to rebuild the *.ini files and the dayfile.txt, monthlyalltimelog.txt files?

Thank you,
Michael

The Cumulus 1 data is in the same format as CumulusMX v3. Rather than changing the CU1 data format before the migration I'd suggest you use the original \data files then put them in CMX4 as \datav3 and run the MigrateData3to4.exe tool. Then you should be able to use CreateMissing in CMX v4.

The

may be outdated as I believe that is CU1 to CMXv3.

Enjoy,

Thanks Paul.

My problem turned out to be a corrupt dayfile.txt. It had a date range of 1930 to 2229. Something obviously parsed the dates incorrectly. I was able to rebuild it using the CreateMissing.exe and CreateRecords.exe.
