CUtils 7.4.2 beta

Post by AndyKF650 »

Hi Hans

I have loaded this latest beta and can report no errors following an overnight run.

I also loaded the latest CMX beta which worked fine. Initially I tried the html NOAA reports which looked OK in CMX but as expected looked no good in CUtils. Personally, I think that the txt version of the NOAA reports works fine for me, but maybe others find that they have a real use for the html version.

One comment about the snow diary is it possible to turn off the report? I do not use it since the last time we had appreciable snow was 20 years ago.

Yes, I probably should have said that the HTML version of the NOAA reports will not be supported i.e. the user is on uncharted territory there. However, the CMX HTML reports are still in beta so I will do that later. The only thing I did was removing the <pre></pre> HTML tags - which are required for the text version - if the user uses the HTML version. The decision to display the HTML version is made in CMX. I could make that a separate CUtils parameter.

The snow diary is not displayed if the database is empty. But I agree: if you use the diary just for weather comments the empty snow thing is annoying. The intention was that with only comment the report would not show. The next version will effectuate that: if both snow25h and snowdepth are null (not filled in) everywhere in the database, the diary will not show.

Maybe better: I will make a parameter Diary which if true will generate the module, when false it will not.

I could download the zip for CU 7.4.2. beta (in the usual location), but where do I find the CMX 4.4.0 Beta (B40730?
I could not find it in the "usual release/wiki locations". Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but I have not been a CMX beta tester before, but this version is tempting because of LDS support. Or should I wait for an offical CMX release.

If you have been a beta tester before you should be on the list and Mark should send you the beta releases by email.
You should be able to see viewforum.php?f=45

If the above does not work for you, please notify Mark that you want to be a beta tester and you will be on that beta testers list. It is not CUtils who runs that. I just publish CUtils (and say which CMX version it requires).

If you are not a beta tester, you will have to wait until the release of CMX 4.4
