It's starting to sound like you've got similar usb problems I and others have had with LaCrosse stations.
Fine Offset stations are USB devices, not serial, unfortunately.

I suspected as much, but thought it worth a mention.
Cheers,

I figure that the problem may have been/is with the station console as it ruptured an aneurysm this week.

My wife called me at work telling me that the console was alarming all over the place and the outside temp was 70 deg

I was able to rush home on the way to another job, the only thing I could think was the cause was that the fan in the stevenson screen may have over heated and caught fire. f.f.f.f.f.fire! (As in Basil Fawlty)
Yes I can laugh now as this was not the case as the 70 deg was F not C.

I tell you the console display was all over the place, corrupted displays etc

After removing the batteries and eventually using easy weather to restore the alarm values and anything else I could do with easy weather it appears to have settled down somewhat.

Anyway I have searched for a way to reset the fine offset console back to factory default settings and had no luck. Is this possible? I know the rain value and extremes will be reset but I think I can cope with that. ;)

Isn't it just a case of removing the batteries (and the USB cable) and waiting a little while? I don't have batteries in mine, and when I disconnect the USB cable, it seem to have reset the next time I connect it.

Hi

Just had the same problem with Downloading Data - and nothing happens.
Reason was that i had started EasyWeather and cleared the memory in the Display station.

So this came up everytime i started Cumulus.

My solution was to just remove Cumulus via the Control Panel, and re-instal it.

And the good news: Everything works again, and i haven't even lost the settings and data from before, it just runs as it had never been down or removed.

Just my experience from what it is worth coming from a Novice in the Cumulus program.
