Use of MeteoPi with CMX and RPi V5

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Use of MeteoPi with CMX and RPi V5

Post by AndyKF650 »

Hi there

Not sure if any one can help me but I recently purchased a RPi v5 on the assumption that it would fit straight in to my Davis VP2 MeteoPi CMX CUtils system which has been up and running for a good few years now.

I have got the RPi up and running with CMX installed and the next stage is to connect the Davis console via the metopi using the port /dev/ttyS0. When I do this I get and error saying that access to the port is denied as per the attached log files.

Has anyone else come across this problem yet. I would mention that the helpdesk at ProData were unable to help and suggested this forum.

This now sorted :D :D

The port needed is /dev/ttyAMA0

That is a result for persistence and exploring the /dev folder on my shiny new RPi v5
