Well, maybe I can do more for you ... or maybe you can do more for me... you did indicate that you were in New Zealand and I always wanted to live on one of the big Islands ... maybe we can reach a mutual agreement that would be pleasant to both of us... :twisted:
JennyLeez wrote:I had been renaming it to xxx.php and telling cumulus to process that :?
I know, that is the way I was originally written on the Wiki page... :(
JennyLeez wrote:Ok file size is now 47k with no snow on the bottom, which will always be so down here. We do not have snow like up there, in fact I have never seen snow where I am. Only the high center of New Zealand has snow fall.
Jenny, I would strongly suggest that you do not edit the file, even if it is only to remove the '$snowdepth' tag. I have the feeling that your editor, 'TextPad' is adding some 'invisible' stuff to the file when it is being saved (you could ZIP your 'cumuluswebtags.txt' and 'cumuluswebtags.php' files and send them my way - I could check the files for unwanted code).
JennyLeez wrote:Anyways please check for me and I will leave ftp switched on over night.
Jenny, I have checked the following link and the 'cumuluswebtags.php' file there is still incomplete... :(

JennyLeez wrote:I understand now.
That is why I like PHP so much ... is that you do not have to really understand everything ... and if you make an error, PHP will tell you about ... it might not give you the exact/right line number ... but at least, PHP warns you ... whereas JavaScript just stops running/working... :evil:

I'm not 'seeing' any 'content' on either site ?

Jenny, quite often your file doesn't exist, will your web server allow "Use FTP rename" ? - looks like you have a (very) short reload interval and a 'gap' while it's been replaced.

Same for your realtime.txt Ray (on the assumption that's what's driving your banner)

You do mean the banner in my signature...

The banner is neither created nor updated by Cumulus ... thus the absence of a 'realtime.txt' file on the server... You might want to look for a 'clientraw.txt' file instead... :roll:

Hi Ray,

Ok I will deal with your idol banter later...lol

No I have not editor the webtags. I just copied the text from browser to text editor and saved as txt file.
Transferred to networked cumulus PC and set txt to process to php.
I have no idea why still not complete.
I will do again and use notepad and see what you get.
5 minutes later:
Ok used notepad this time. Nothing altered and lets see what you think once you get your butt outta bed :)

Cheers
Jenny

Why do you need to copy the text to a text editor - I cannot understand the need nor the purpose?

The file available from the Wiki is a text file. You just need to move your mouse pointer on top of the file name, right-click and select 'Save Link As...' (in Firefox) or select 'Save Target As...' (in Internet Explorer) or select 'Save Linked Content As...' (in Opera) or select 'Save link as...' (in Google Chrome) - it is that simple... ;)

Using this simple option prevents you from having to highlight the text, copy the text to an editor and finally save the copied text to a file... :twisted:

I've never seen it produce nothing. I usually only get the first few lines when I try to view it

If you are getting nothing, it may be that you have an error in the PHP --- can you attach the file as a txt here?

As stated earlier, the beteljuice has never seen anybodys 'source=view', but there is no 'display' output anyway ;)

As long as the file has been processed and uploaded - it is an 'include' for use by other (php) scripts and only contains variable declarations.

So to test it you need another php script.

eg.

Code: Select all

<?
include 'cumuluswebtags.php';

echo $time;
?>

But the DAJ has seen it, and his did display the whole thing in times of old. No idea why it now does not. I don't really care as it works and I have no reason to actually display it.

Hi Betel,

I have tried a number of scripts to echo the output, they are also blank.

this is a copy of the file that is output. Seems to be working ok. In real life its called cumuluswebtags.php

the page that calls the file is at http://www.nzweather.net/springston/blah.php
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I think this line causes a problem because of the quotes in the string:

Code: Select all

$forum                = ":<a href="http://www.nzweather.net/forum">forum</a>:";  //  URL of the forum
I think the template needs to be like this:

Code: Select all

$forum                = '<#forum>';  //  URL of the forum
I don't know if this is actually anything to do with the problem you're having, though.

http://www.nzweather.net/springston/web ... ource=view

betel will now also be able to see the sourceview ;)

I still cant get a successful call from it though

Indeed, Steve is correct that the '$forum = '<#forum>'; // URL of the forum' tag should have been enclosed within single quotes ... but David, for 'Cumulus Toolbox' needed to replace the single quotes with double quotes... :(

Thus, neither the '$forum' nor the '$webcam' tags can be used with double quotes...

I have since moved to a more advanced PHP5 version of 'cumuluswebtags' and I have stopped supporting the file relinquishing any future updates to David.
