Adding Laser/Snow to the compiler

For those who want to see what comes up I created a demo Snow chart with temperature and rain.
I did not look at colours, it has a zoom of 3 months and I had little snow over here but it gives you an idea of what is possible with the charts.
This chart is set under the Home button but if you give it its own output you can put it in the menu anywhere you want.
Code: Select all
Chart Snow Title Snow combined with other variables
Zoom 2
PLOT Daily AverageTemp
Plot Daily Snow24h As Column
Plot Daily SnowDepth As Column
Plot Daily DayRain As Column
EndChart
I need a bit more testing before beta 4 goes out but I think end of the week can be done unless distaster strikes.

See the
release notes for beta 4 for the other changes in the beta.
Suggestions/comments are welcome

Hi Hans,
For those who want to see what comes up I created a demo Snow chart with temperature and rain.
Will be very interesting...
Another element that affects snow measurement, both in snowfall24h and snowdepth, is wind, especially during the snow squalls and blizzards off of the Great Lakes. We all have our unique weather and weather influences!
And in our climate, the temperature certainly affects the rain amount measured. My Davis VP2 has not recorded any rain since Jan 1st but we have had precipitation (snow) in 7 of the last 8 days. Once the temperature rises above freezing and the sun gets warmer the accumulated snow in the rain gauge will melt, and we'll have rain along with bright sunshine so maybe include the sunhours as well
Enjoy,
Paul

I think I'll add snow tags to customlogs and start playing around with different combinations of data on the chart.
That could be interesting.

Comment to your chart: 20 m of snow is more than I have!
Unit on axis still has to be fixed.

@Paul: haha... yes, everything can be added but it does not sound as if you think it's useful or do I misunderstand?
@Dador: OK.
@sutne: yes, known issue. Height axis currently has no variable unit. I have to review. That's one of the reasons the beta release is not yet.

Note: I changed this to the
beta site with @sutne's database which contains more snow (it is generally much colder there).

Hi Hans,
@Paul: haha... yes, everything can be added but it does not sound as if you think it's useful or do I misunderstand?
Not saying it is not useful, just there are so many different environments. In our area it is usually not snow and rain, but snow or rain.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul,
OK, I misread your lines. If it is an or situation it may be useful to just chart those parameters and see if anything interesting comes up.
Anyway, hope it will find its way.
Cheers,
Hans
