uploading realtime to your server

hi all,

the realtime.txt as we know overwrites once the new data arrives, and the datfile.txt has the data stored for one day...
I need to update my database server every 30 min, so is it possible to get a TEXT file which could overwrite itself in 30 min (or watever interval mentioned)...I can use this file and FTP it to my database server then...

please advise
thanks
Akshay

oh thanks for your msg. ...i thought my query was so dumb that the moderator just erased it...

well abt the issue i mentioned above, i just thought of a solution please correct wherever i am wrong,

now as the dayfile.txt stores only the highest n lowest entries for a day so cant use that,
but monthly.txt (Jan10.txt) stores data for the whole month (whole data for each individual day is also there)..

now if i could somehow set the month.txt to be updated in30 min then i could mention the file name in FTP utility in cumulus and also select the option delete before/after uploading (so no need for the overwrite option)

now the prob was that this way i will loose my data for whole month in the cumulus (as a new file will be created every 30 min)...but the genius software stores daywise data in backup folder also...so no worries abt loosing data...

plz advise

thanks and regards
Akshay

Your monthly file is updated every 10 minutes however you can change that interval to 30 if you wish.

In Configuration, Station and on the far right of the screen you can change the data logger interval to 30 minutes. This will record data every 30 minutes, but it will not delete itself after you upload it

The log files are used by Cumulus to produce graphs so it is not a good idea to start removing the current month at least, or the dayfile

thanks david...ya its not agud idea to alter month.txt then...also i cant FTP month.txt every 30 min as it will have redundant data record from previous 30 min..

i also thought of increasing the update duration for realtime.txt and then FTP it, but i guess it will also cause the same prob with graphs and the data over web server..

So will hav to figure out some other way of uploading to the database server...

thanks
