Gauge Cloudbase

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Gauge Cloudbase

Post by kj6rgx »

Curious why this gauge always reads 300? I realize it's a computed figure and not all that important, but because it never changes I am wondering if I misconfigured something that is possibly affecting other readings.

Are your temperature and dew point looking reasonable? Cloudbase is based on these two variables.

What value does

Code: Select all

http://localhost:8998/api/tags/process.json?cloudbase
return? Replace localhost with your MX installation's IP address if not performing the request on the MX host.

The gauge rounds the value to the nearest 100 ft, so if the calculated value is low it may not change much.

You can check the raw value with: http:<CMX_IP_ADDRESS>:8998/api/tags/process.json?cloudbase

I swear that gauge has been reading 300 for over a week, but as soon as I post a question it now shows 650. :groan:

Command returns 637 feet.

Thanks for the help.
