Cumulus Support

The transition from v3 to v4 looks all good except that the serial port for the weather station will not open. Below is the first few lines from the error message upon executing the dotnet cumulusmx.dll command.
I'm working from a RPi, Bullseye OS. Seems GLIBC_2.34 is missing but what would I know.

I think you need to upgrade your OS to Bookworm. Bullseye is no longer supported for .NET 8 regarding to CMX v4 installation instructions.

I am running CMX v4 on Bullseye, Net8 needs different libraries, as mentioned in the instruction:

Next install the .NET dependencies (Check this page https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/dotn ... ed-install for OS other than Debian 12)

Thanks. I'm going to read the install instructions again and check out the Microsoft link. I'll report back.

I think the problem is GLIBC_2.34 or later is not available for Bullseye. So far, the restriction only seems to affect stations that use a serial connection afaik.

I can't fix the problem. I'll just upgrade to Bookworm.

Some progress.... I upgraded the RPi to Bookworm. CumulusMX v4 now receives data from the Davis VP2 Wx station.

Now a new problem,,,,, MQTT Explorer does not receive the MQTT data from CumulusMX. I'm wondering if the MQTT template files need some fine tuning. It worked when I was on Bullseye OS and CumulusMX v3.

User error (I think),,,,, I restarted CumulusMX. MQTT now functions as expected.
