WH1091 thinks its a Rocket Launcher

My WH1091 has decided it doesn't like Windows 7x64
USB\ weather station comunication has ceased.

Now for the fun bit (sarcasm)
The PC still acknowledges it....as a Dream Link USB Missile Launcher.

I have discovered that this is a "not uncommon occurrence".

Have tried resetting the weather station.
Done the software uninstall/reinstall,
Attacked the registry in various ways.

The fault seems to be in the WH1091 USBfirmware

Here's the (Ausbmon20) read out

Yes, somehow two unrelated devices have ended up with the same ID. Someone else here did have the same problem, but I can't remember how they fixed it. Searching the forum hasn't helped.

The hotfix seems to be for Vista anyway, rather than 7?

which is for windows x64
3 miles of "windows validation" and its only for hardware hardware .

note.
I have just repaired a friends win 7x64 pc for him.
Whilst working on it Idisconected it from Net.
Installed EasyWeather 6.1
Pluged in my WH1091
and.........
according to his PC
he now has......a...
Dream Link USB Rocket Launcher-USB Input Device

Have just done a search for Dream Link Rocket Launcher.

It seems that Dream Link is a Asian company that amongst other things,
is also a USB software developer.
One of their product ranges is Weather Stations,
USB to be precise and they seem to have the same standard graphic interface as the Wh1091,
and others. Hmmm??

Anyone know how to "flash" a USB weather station.
Fine Offset is not honoring their waranty so i think its time
to 'gut' the usb in this thing as it doesnt work properly.

The WH1091 is working 100% as a weather station with only slight
discrepancies,
but i bought it for the USB and thats a dud!

Average temp here is 35 to 40deg C and its only out by +-2.
Humidity varies from 10 to 49% and this WS is only out by +-4
So except for the dud USB its a good WS.
