Data visibility

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Data visibility

Post by Stefano G »

Hello,

I have a problem with the data display on the dashboard. If in the settings, display options, data visibility menu I choose to hide or show some data (for example solar data or snowfall) this has no effect on the dashboard. For example, I can't see the snowfall in any way.

I'm using version 4.3.1

Thanks to anyone who can help me solve the problem.

I know at least two settings to show data for snowfall:
• Display Options > General Options > Snowfall
and
• Display Options > Data Visibility > Snow
but I am not sure if there is somewhere in the depths of the Settings another box to tick.

In case of Solar you have additionally to go to Station Settings and tell CMX the transmitter ID of your solar/uv sensor (if you are using Davis equipment), I think.

I tried enabling both but I get no results.

In reality I don't have a solar sensor and therefore I would like to disable the display but it always remains visible!

The main dashboard page is pretty fixed, the visibility settings do affect the Now, Extra sensors pages etc.

I think the AI2 makes more use of the visibility settings? I'm afraid I'm not that familar with it.

Thanks for reply.
Unfortunately in my case it doesn't even affect the now page, extra sensor etc.

If I disable UV and Solar in "Now" they are still visible, if I enable snowfall I don't see it anywhere!

Hi,
if I enable snowfall I don't see it anywhere!
For me and others that have the diary populated and snow enabled, the snow chart is visible from - local Dashboard > Charts > Daily Charts and select Snowfall from the bottom menu options.
Similar to standard website Charts > Historic > select Snowfall https://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx ... c.htm#snow

Enjoy,
Paul

Hello kj6rgx - your html source of historic.htm has to been added the following line (the last line in this code button id="btnSnow" ... and rename 'Schnee' into your language):

Code: Select all

<div class="w3-bar w3-center">
	<button id="btnTemp" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('temp');">Temperatur</button>
	<button id="btnPress" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('press');">Luftdruck</button>
	<button id="btnWind" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('wind');">Wind</button>
	<button id="btnHum" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('humidity');">Feuchtigkeit</button>
	<button id="btnRain" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('rain');">Niederschlag</button>
	<button id="btnSolar" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('solar');">Solarstrahlung</button>
	<button id="btnDegDay" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('degday');">Gradtage</button>
	<button id="btnTempSum" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('tempsum');">Temp Summen</button>
	<button id="btnChillHrs" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('chillhrs');">Chill Std</button>
	<button id="btnSnow" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('snow');">Schnee</button>
</div>
Hope this helps.

@StefanoG: If you are using the same classic web-template it should work for you, too!

Have you enabled in Internet Settings alldailysnowdata.json? and have you uploaded the needed \website files which includes>?

Code: Select all

<button id="btnSnow" class="w3-bar-item w3-btn w3-theme-l2 w3-theme-hvr at-slim mx-button" onClick="changeGraph('snow');">Snowfall</button>

And if someone is using the AI2 website interface the button snow herein is missing also. But here it needs javascript knowledge to make an added button functional in the file charthistoric.js.

Don't want to steal this thread, but I want to make sure I understand...

I see the snow chart in the local interface, but if I want website visitors to see the snow chart I need to manually edit historic.htm to add the button?

No. The newest release will have all the necessary and updated/corrected files. As you have likely done, you will need to use Settings to have the charts displayed or not.

And also, for your website you will need to upload the latest \CumulusMX\webfiles files.

Enjoy,
Paul

AFAIK I am running the latest release. I have instructed CMX4 to make snow visible. I compared historic.htm on my webserver with the code in the install package. I ftp'd the install version of the historic.htm file to my webserver and I now see the chill hrs and snow buttons. However, clicking on them does not produce the correct chart. When I hit either of these buttons the chart heading shows temperature and displays the temperature chart. These charts work correctly from the localhost display, just not on my webserver. I am having an issue with my browser cacheing pages so if someone else could verify my findings I would appreciate it. Site URL is https://huntroadweather.com/index.htm

Did you also upload the js/historiccharts.js ?

You should have uploaded the complete CumulusMX/webfiles/
