Rolling back to backup for now - not sure what this message means. I do have a Tempest weather station.

So I rebooted the PC, restarted CumulusMX, rebooted the Tempest hub. These data errors on starting Cumulus persist - seems like the program can't read the data history for some reason.

2024-12-05 04:55:48 - You are not running the latest version of Cumulus MX, build Build 4063 - Version 4.3.0 is available.
Data are being downloaded and saved after this. I turned on debug and data logging for a short while. Log is attached.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Check and/or redo the password?
And you do not seem to run 4063

I saw this error when I installed 4063 - thinking it was related I rolled back the install.
Which password are you referencing?

Your station is returning an error when the request for historic data is made: "DATA_ERROR - null"
It should return "SUCCESS" in the status.
Perhaps the station needs a reset of some sort? Sorry I am not familiar with the Tempest station.

The password to access the history (somewhere)?

The Tempest gets the historic data directly from the station.

Aha...

Asked about this on a Tempest user group - may be a change to the API. Asking WeatherFlow/Tempest directly.

Additional issues I am seeing with my Tempest and CMX - Gauges on the dashboard are not updating nor registering data. The last Cumulus update shows xx:yy:zz, not a time. This is the AI interface but also the standard interface. Edit - This is also with build 4063 - I updated when it seemed the error was not due to that specific build.

A log file with debug and data logging enabled would help.

I was going to update CMX4 today...I shutdown 4.2.1 that was running normally...was going to make a copy of the directory before installing the new version...seeing these messages about problems with the new version I decided to restart 4.2.1 and discovered I get the same error:
It appears to me that this error is caused by the Tempest folks and not CMX4.

Apologies - posted one earlier but that was not for 4063 it was after I rolled back to the prior build. Will do that later today.

I did email WeatherFlow:
Hi Guy,
Thanks for reaching out. I think might be on the CumulusMX end or just a typo somewhere. I tested out some API calls and it seems like functioning well on our side. I also tested it with your token and it was working just fine.
https://apidocs.tempestwx.com/reference ... bydeviceid
Was there a certain data you were downloading, they were likely using the API call linked above, but I would just like to make sure if there is any other API call I need to check.
Kind Regards,
I don't know if the station history uses something different than the API referenced above. I told them I was getting station history up to a certain number of days.
