Then I also have a question about Airquality, why is it treated different than the others, why is it not one of the charts?
And beside the long answer above, I forgot to say that you can configure your menu and charts as you wish and add all charts (Extra, CustomLogs) to your Home button by moving them around in the
CutilsCharts.def definition file. If you move all charts to your home button you can (almost) have your charts menu the way it is in the standard website. Note that cannot be done with Airlink as that is not created with the ChartCompiler. CUtils is highly configurable with the charts and the menu definition files. But yes, it is not the default.
And beside all of the above: CUtils is modular i.e. you can have the (e.g.) Extra Sensors as a module for a separate website without using the CUtils website. Modularity requires creating parts (division).

Thanks, that looks great on your site.
However, I am at a bit of delay of doing any updates and uploading. Yesterday both my WiFiLogger and Weatherlink Live stopped connecting to my network within a few hours of each other and nothing I could do to make them work so had to shutdown both CumulusMXs. I couldn't reach Davis on the WLL so waiting to call them in a couple of hours. I also emailed Wojtek on the WiFiLogger issue. I heard back from Wojtek this morning, but lo and behold, the WiFiLogger had come back to life sometime after midnight. beta 6 is on my WLL test system so don't have this running yet (WLL allows more than 1 CMX at the same time but WiFiLogger only 1).
Hi Paul,
Let me know when you can work on the moon image. I'll be away for the weekend again so that requires some coordination.
I saw that your diary does not have the 0.0 values when the field is not entered but the other field is. If that does not happen with a full diary (or website) generation (it should with beta 6) then please post the corresponding logfile so I can have a look.
Your WLL CUtils site is increasingly interesting with your mods of the menu and nice
About.
You might want to consider using the ChartsCompiler by copying
CutilsCharts-default-for-use.def to
CutilsCharts.def in the utils directory and do a full website generation. From there if you wish you can modify anything from colours to line thickness to completely new charts.

@paulmy
Thanks for the comment on my site, it is there for a reminder to me of the work done in getting it to the current position.
I looked at your CUtils site which is looking good with lots of external links, I noticed that you even referenced my site in the menu but the link goes to Hans site.
Keep up the good work

Hans,
thanks for explanation. I am very pleased with CumulusUtils and have it as my main website. I also have the CMX-web which I vainly tries to translate, so maybe I will drop it. After having made the language file in Cutils it is permanent only with few updates.
You have been very open for suggestions, the easy ones comes almost the next day!
And I understand that with increasing numbers of users, making changes have to be cautiously considered.
For snow we probably have to wait for the LDS01 and how CMX handles it,
Personally I would like to have the current snowdepth in the Rainfall panel (in norwegian we use Nedbør which is anything from the sky, rain, snow, sleet, hail).
And also make a chart that shows both rain and snowdepth. Is snow already available for Chart-def?
Another request I would like is a panel for airquality, maybe with the emoj-like face that Ecowitt uses.
That would probably open for having more than 24 panels. Still only 24 would be shown, divided by two pages. So we have to choose which should be shown.
Thank you for the effort you put into this!

so @Mark: idea? You could take the charts and code for the compiler if you wish, small mods required to make them to your standard
Hmm, maybe discuss offline?

No, snow is as yet only available in the Diary module.
I'll let CMX 4.3 /CUtils 7.3 sink in and then look what needs to be done to do that. Not sure that is possible (with AirLink I am pretty sure it is not possible). Let's say we come back to this.
I understand your wish to combine rain and snow. What exactly do you mean with the Rainfall panel? Would that be what is the Nedbør chart under your Home button or one of the panels in the left (non-chart) part of the screen? In the latter case we need to see how the laser is going to work because that panel contains realtime data. That in itself has the issue that the file realtime.txt does not contain snow data. So again, we'll come back to this as soon as it is clear how the laser is working out and Mark has taken a view on this.

Again: the issue is that the panels are ruled by the realtime files sent by CMX (realtime.txt and realtimegauges.txt) Neither of those contain airquality particulate matter data. But I can ask Mark to add AirQuality RT-data and RT-snow data to those files.
Making more than 24 panels and only show 24 I think is technically possible.
Anyway: in summary, there are some things to be done before your wishes come true.

There is a site about 10 km away from my site (Rjoanddalen). I think it is a Davis station. He has been measuring snowdepths (snødybde) for several years. I do not know how he measures it, but with LDS01 I am expecting to see some figures like this. Maybe not 350 cm, but at least 200.

Words alone can not show and recall all the effort that you/we put into our hobby, but visuals are the reward. And our efforts are the result from the program and template creators.
It was late at night and I noticed my URL error, so corrected it. It was late at night ... and forgot to push save!
Enjoy,

Maybe this time you you pushed save, but now those cutils links (Andy, Steinar and my site) are gone completely

@Hans,
I saw that your diary does not have the 0.0 values when the field is not entered but the other field is.
I have beta 6 which I think is the latest. I had noticed, as for Dec 6, 2023 (I recall the date from my sinterklaas reminiscing)
which has a 24-hr snowfall but no accumulation at 8:00 am reading time. The 24-hr rain was entered as 0.1 (trace) and Depth as 0.0 (no accumulation). It would be nice to have 0.0 display for no depth. All days from Oct to April from 2017 have an entry, unless I missed some during my catch up edit.
Most recent website run cumulusutils log attached.
Let me know when you can work on the moon image.
The moon images are uploaded by CMX to /cumulusmx4wll/images
https://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx ... s/moon.png
For comparison I looked at the NOAA settings which is working fine as FTPDirectory=./Reports/
So for moon I used =./images/
After many trials the current settings in cumulusutils.ini
Code: Select all
MoonImageLocation=../cumulusmx4wll/images/
I have also tried =
images/
/images/
./images/
../images/
cumulusmx4wll/images/
./cumulusmx4wll/images/
all without success.
You might want to consider using the ChartsCompiler by copying CutilsCharts-default-for-use.def to CutilsCharts.def in the utils directory and do a full website generation.
For a later time... my initial attempt was a disaster and lost my edited menu, and without a backup

But easy recovery in Cutils menu
Enjoy,
Paul

That is weird. If you look at
my beta site you see that the same line has the correct format which you are looking for. I see no error in the log.
So the question is what are we looking at. The file gets uploaded OK and is visible outside as
textfile
I'll have to think about this. Not sure what's the cause here.

In addition: do you have a definition for CumulusRealTimeLocation in your cumulusutils.ini?

OK, that is pretty clear
- The first chart is temerature and rain in one chart. I think you can create that chart with the ChartsCompiler. I'll try it myself after the weekend if you are not successfull
- The second chart can be made in the ChartsCompiler. As previous.
- The third chart is more complex because it shows the snowdepth for every year. The X-axis runs from the first snow date until the last snow date. That is more like the statistics charts where the years make the series on a x-axis with months. That has to be a separate chart and would go in the snow report
I like the last chart a lot but in the current situation it is impossible to automate all three charts in a single package. And to be honest, I don't see the charts as related (snow depth against rain/temp/wind) especially because the x-axis don't match. They do not belong aligned below each other as they are now.
So in summary: the above two you can make with the Chartscompiler, the third one is a statistical chart which I can make (e.g. under the condition there is a snow report) and it would be included in the Rain Graphs package.
Do you have a link to that site of your neighbour?
