QuerydayFile with End of Day processing

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

QuerydayFile with End of Day processing

Post by packman2008 »

I wanted to use the QueryDayFile tag to produce some output at the start of a month for the previous month. I don't need this creating/uploading in realtime or every 15 minutes so the End of Day option sounds best. However, that raises a question of exactly what end of day means, i.e. are the end of day extra web files created before the date rolls over or after. The value of MonN changes at midnight which obviously affects the data that's output.

To clarify what I mean, let's say it's the last day of November. At 23:59:59 Month-1 = October and 2 seconds later (00:00:01) Month-1 = November. So depending on when the end of day processing happens it could output October or November data.

If end of day means before Month changes then I can't create the previous month info until the end of the first day of the new month so most people wouldn't realistically see it until they wake up on day 2 of the month. If that's the case then I might need to generate some MySQL queries to extract the data I want, but that's a fair bit of extra work that I'd like to avoid if possible!

Tasks flagged as end of day are called after the rollover processing is complete, ie the meteo date will be the 1st of the month, which I think is what you need?
