Powercut issue

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Powercut issue

Post by Mapantz »

I had a power cut about 2 hours ago, but since then, CMX is unable to connect to upload.php

I have rebooted and everything, but I get a 500 error. I contacted the host and they said there's no block on my IP address.

I can connect to my FTP client fine. I'm completely out of ideas.

I found the issue

I had to disable Brotli Compression

Even though it's on for my hosting, it doesn't work.

Interesting, your web page certainly loads using brotli compression for downloads. I obviously cannot test if it is working for uploads.

Still seem to be getting those errors. Never seen them before!

Are the files you are uploading to on your web server owned by the same user that the web server runs as? If you can't tell, then delete the files from the web server (or move them somewhere else) and upload.php will recreate them with correct ownership.

If you can look at your web server error log then there may be further clues in there.

Yeah.

They do get recreated if I delete them. As for the server error log, I cannot view that.

The only log I could view is the php error log, if I enabled it.

Just for giggles, I enabled Brotli compression in CMX again, and restarted, and it works.

There's some strange things going on!

I couldn't upload anything for over 2 hours earlier, until I disabled Brotli compression and restarted CMX.

OK, possibly spotted why those 403 occurred. My PHP version was updated today..

Tell a lie.. I thought they updated it, but they actually changed my PHP version back to 8.1, from 8.2. I'm not sure why they did that, as I haven't asked them to mess with any PHP settings.
