CUtils 7.3.0 beta3

Hi Hans
After an overnight problem with my site server, sorted now, I was in a position to run the new beta 3. It all looks good for me but then again, I have no recorded snow to look at. My only use of the weather diary is to monitor when I do significant changes of hardware.
One comment is that when looking at a blank year page the extra underline dots show out very clearly. I am sure you spent a long time coding each year page and got a bit carried away in places.
All in all, a great job as ever.

Well, the issue stands out clearly because the check for data should not look at the info field but only at the snow height fields. So that should be improved: having no snow data means there is no interesting diary from a reporting/charting point of view and the menu option should not be available.

Well it was a puzzle but it is not so bad that each dot is programmed separately

What you see is the dotted line in the middle of the columns: no data at all (e.g. 31 nov). Dotted lines in each column: the is data but the snow height fields have no data or a height of 0 (are null or 0) .
If you look at
the example report you see how it should look.
Thanks for looking and testing.

Hi Hans,
I had not yet added CUtils with latest CMX beta but now have and the Diary looks great.
https://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx ... =diary.txt
We have not yet gotten any snow here this season so all days so far are entered as zero.
The CMX snow graph here
https://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx ... c.htm#snow
My diary is converted and up to date with snow entered in CMX since Mark's CMX update was first released in the 2018-2019 season. If I find the energy someday, I may start to add the previous years from my CU1 records...
Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks @Paul, your database inspired the whole CUtils snow reporting and the modification of the database as Mark implemented.
Good cooperation I think. Thanks both.
I am not sure yet if I will follow CMX in snow charting but it looks good so I may.
And I know you did not have snow yet, but I do like the difference between days past and the future. Originally I had filled that automatically with 0. That may be correct but visually it is better to have them dashed.

Re charting, I haven't done any Excel charts for many years and know only the very basics but after the diary changes and updating it I have done some. I may do some in season and month comparison.
Enjoy,
Paul

The snow data in the upcoming CMX release looks great. I'm looking forward to using it myself.
Will the new feature in cutils - Diary - also be available as a module?

Yes, that should work though that has not been tested yet.
The test is up to you

, no doubt we'll work that out, some minor modifications may be required but it may work out of the box.
I think that if the NOAA reader works out of the box as a module, this one will not really give headaches.

Thanks. Yes, those season summaries are on the list too, numeric anyway.
Nice chart. Month comparison is not very high on my list, if ever
