New CMX installation

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

New CMX installation

Post by falkunmalti »

Hi

I have been successfully running version 3043 for a long time on my rpi3 running Buster. The other day my pi failed and I have to rebuild it from scratch. Without thinking I downloaded the latest version of raspbian os (bookworm). So my first question is should I be running buster or bookworm? Secondly cmx 3 or version 4? Do I have to worry about any gotchas?

Thanks in advance.

Will cmx run fine with buster or bookworm on my rpi3?
Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up to date with the forum

I would advise to use the latest version of both CMX and RPi OS (so: v4 and bookworm)

For CMX to catch op to version 4, note that is does no longer use mono but for v4 it uses dotnet.
Be sure to read Cumulus MX Version 4 - IMPORTANT Additional Information!

If any additional questions: ask ;)
