I'm in the process of setting up a weather station for a client and have just found out he runs an Apple Mac. Is it possible to run Cumulus on a Mac? Do they have a Windows simulation or sandbox area?
And would a Davis Vantage Vue plug into it?
Cheers
Steve

Re: Mac
You can run Cumulus on a Mac if you use emulation software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion
http://www.parallels.com/uk/products/desktop/
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/
Mac OSx also has Bootcamp built in which allows you to have a Windows partition on the Mac and you can boot up to that and run Windows XP/Vista exclusively. Disadvantage to that is you need to reboot to run Mac apps!
Both solutions require an Intel based Mac
On a side note, you say you are setting up a weather station for a client....Cumulus is "Free for personal and non-profit use, but a donation would be appreciated if you continue to use Cumulus after trying it"

Re: Mac
Thanks for that - I'll suggest he does that . . or buys a wee dedicated PC running Windows.

Re: Mac
I personally use VMWare Fusion for a variety of Windows application -- it is very stable (for me at least). I run Cumulus on its own PC, but I have ran and tested it on both Fusion and Parallels just to satisfy myself that it would workprofzarkov wrote:Thanks for that - I'll suggest he does that . . or buys a wee dedicated PC running Windows.
