Questions regarding catch-up from ecowitt.net

My setup is the following: One outdoor array, GW1100 and HP2551 console, both send data to ecowitt.net. I have two instances of CMXv3 both connected to the GW1100 (one with api, one with http). Yesterday I had an ups failure that caused my GW1100, network main router and both CMX instances to lose power for 12 hours. However, the HP2551 console was not affected and remained connected to ecowitt.net via my backup 4g connection.

Now I am a bit puzzled what would be the easiest and/or safest way to get the missing data from ecowitt.net.

If I just change the mac address in catch-up settings to the HP2551 one, it most likely would download the missing data from the cloud, but I presume it will cause issues in rain counter being reset when catchup starts, and then resetted again when CMX resumes getting data from the GW1100?

One possibility would of course be setting up a copied instance of CMX for just downloading the missing data, and then modify the raincounters manually before copy-pasting the data to the real CMX installations. But I assume that filling the missing data afterwards to the monthly log will also cause several issues that need manual corrections?

Any good ideas?

The way the rain counter works is that it resets itself to whatever it is receiving after 3 altered readings. So at most you would lose 15 minutes rain at the start of the catch-up, and again 3x the data interval from your station at the start of live running back on the original station.

If both stations have the same yearly totals then the counters should be the same anyway.

Thanks Mark, changing the mac address temporarily worked like a charm. It was not raining when I made the change and catch-up, so data should be valid and at least looks like it is.
