No wind data after lightning strike

Post by flort »

Hi,

Yesterday afternoon there was a lightning strike directly overhead and I believe it may have struck my Vantage Vue. There have been no wind speed or wind direction readings since the strike. Temperature, humidity and rainfall are still reading fine.

Looking at the MX log, it is still receiving readings every 2.5 seconds for the wind data, however, these readings are always 0. Health data in Weatherlink Live also shows normal. There is no visible evidence of damage to the inside or outside of the unit.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to look at to get it going again. I will contact Davis but thought I'd ask here first in case anyone else has previously had this issue.

Regards,
Trevor

Perhaps a reset of the ISS will help.
I found this in the Davis FAQ:

Thanks Derk. I had read that but it referred to a reset if the ISS doesn't have power. Mine is functioning perfectly with sending information to the WLL. I can change channels and all other readings are being sent. I'll see what Davis says and try a reset if nothing else works (it's mounted on the roof so only want to do that as a last resort).
