I missed the earlier peak, but this was from our light polluted house in NW England.

Woohoo Mark,
Nice one matey.

Now I have the 2 Weather Cams mounted on my roof :
1 - The Original facing East by South over the Tasman Sea ( basically towards NZ from Beaumaris Tasmania ).
2 - The new one facing South from Beaumaris over Scamander township ( basically towards Antarctica ).
Note: Scamander causes some Light Pollution ( South ), though so does the Local Fishing boats out on the Eastern side (big spotlights on water) !

Note : Both are the same models:
4 K ColorVu ( Low-Light ) Fixed Bullet Network Camera by hikvision.com.
Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2-L 4K 8MP Gen2 ColorVu Bullet Camera with Acusense 60m White LED 2.8mm
High quality ( Low-Light ) imaging, 2.8 mm: horizontal FOV102°, vertical FOV 52°, diagonal FOV 124°

I have scripted both of them to fully auto capture images/time-lapse and upload to my weather site, we captured some fairly good footage early this morning :D and really happy with them.

Here in Tasmania, this mornings event occurred after around 03:00 AEDT Friday 11-Oct-2024 or ( 16:00 UTC Thursday 10-Oct-2024 ).

Links below : Note : scroll down on the later pages to see last 7 odd day achieved Time-Lapses.

1 - Collection of ( Main Aurora Only ) time-lapses : https://beaumaris-weather.com/AuroraTim ... 2024-10-11
2 - South Camera Page ( Saratoga/PC ) : https://beaumaris-weather.com/wxwebcamt ... esouth.php
3 - South Camera Page ( CMX/Mobile ) : https://beaumaris-weather.com/BWX/webcamsouth.php
4 - East Camera page ( Saratoga/PC ) : https://beaumaris-weather.com/wxwebcamtimelapse.php
5 - East Camera page ( CMX/Mobile ) : https://beaumaris-weather.com/BWX/webcam.php

On the New Southern Camera, I capture images in 5 second intervals, so way to hard to pick a best of the night, so just picked a random one to show here. Oh and thanks to CMX our 1 minute updated local weather conditions are also over-layed on every image used in the time-lapse videos :D . Oh and when viewing the East by South Cam, you may see the Gum Tree in front of us light up ( that mostly happens during those hours, when my solar sensor lights at the front gate are set off by pesky rabbits trying to enter the property ).

1 : Top mounted Cam is facing ( East by South - original ).
2 : Bottom mounted Cam is facing ( South - new ).

Nice view Mark. Nothing visible in Tenerife as you’d expect. But at least I can sit outside in shorts and enjoy the sunshine without getting frostbite. :D
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

You got some great sequences there Tony

I was half an hour too late, and whilst cloudless the skies were still a bit hazy. But at least I saw something, and it was the first time my wife had ever seen the aurora!

My wife caught a glimpse of it last night here in Broadstairs, not often we see it this far south. By the time she called me it had faded but I have seen it here a while ago.

Here is my contribution to this one. The yellow part in the left upper space is a reflection of an LED from the webcam environment (Raspi).

Managed to get some images using iPhone despite some local light pollution.
