I would appreciate the ability to select a Vantage Pro 2 Envoy that uses a USB DataLogger without having to use adapters to convert a USB to virtual com port.

Thank you.

The Davis USB logger is already supported, but you must switch it serial port mode using the WeatherLink PC software.

The native USB mode will never be supported as it requires outdated drivers that are only available for Windows.

That does not work, WeatherLink PC version 6.0.5 does not recognize serial and no serial ports show up in device manager. Only selection is USB.

This page provides a very comprehensive explanation of the two different connection modes the USB logger can operate in.

Hi,
That does not work, WeatherLink PC version 6.0.5 does not recognize serial and no serial ports show up in device manager. Only selection is USB.
I have a Davis VP2, an Envoy, and Weatherlink USB logger that has been working since 2008. I still use it for both Weatherlink PC 6.0.5 and Cumulus.
Initially Davis helped me (when they were easy to contact and talk to a person) to reset the USB logger to serial mode as I had by mistake ran it in USB mode. They understood that third-party programs (like Cumulus, WD, etc.) need to access it in serial mode The utility to change from USB mode to serial mode was included in the Weatherlink PC program/logger package that I still have on my PC. I believe the Prodata link Mark noted has the latest information on this.

Enjoy,
Paul
