PHP Uploads Suddenly Failing

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

PHP Uploads Suddenly Failing

Post by The Dalek Hunter »

I have altered nothing and al of a sudden PHP uploads are failings with a 503 error

My hosting company is IONOS.

Is it me or them???

This has affected both my CMX stations on the Mac mini M2 and the one on a Raspberry Pi 5

WeeWX and WeatherCat are unaffected - these are using RSYNC

Accessing my websites via FileZilla is also unaffected

Looks like it is them. I would raise a ticket and ask them to look into it.

They do not seem to understand what PHP uploads are!

Although it does seem strange SFTP and RSYNC are unaffected but PHP uploads are failing.

They keep saying FileZilla is working fine and they can't see a problem......

You need to tell them that you are frequently calling a php page (upload.php) with an HTTP POST request. Nothing at all to do with SFTP or FileZilla. This is the Apache web server not servicing your request.

They have not come back to me yet so I have switched back to SFTP and that is working fine.

Ditto here. Failures from approximately 13:07.

Also with IONOS.

If it is all IONOS I wonder if they have found some way to prevent PHP uploads? If so they are a pita!
