Bbdd CumulusMX v3 and MySQL

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Bbdd CumulusMX v3 and MySQL

Post by CarlosLSev »

Hello, I have a question, I have CumulusMX v3 working, they gave me a script that works in CumulusMX but I need to activate MySQL. The way I have it now I have it under control. For backup copies, just copy the "data","Reports" folder and the cumulus.ini file. Or copy the entire folder. In version v4 things already change somewhat but it hasn't migrated yet. My question is if I activate the MySQL option. The database is still on my Raspberry or it is now on the web server where I have the mysql database. What would the copy process be like once the mysql option is activated? Or is everything simply the same and cumulus separately sends those 3 mysql tables to the server Let's see if someone can clarify for me Thank you Modify message Report

There are no changes to the MySQL tables between Version 3 and Version 4 and the MySQL tables are held on your web server which is assumed to run the requisite MySQL set up.

The move to V4 involves converting all the data files held by CumulusMX to a new format with a Universal Date format, the MySQL files are not affected, so there is no reason not to implement the MySQL feature in version 3.

It is. Nothing changes in CMX, the MySQL data is extra and only ever written to by MX.

Thanks Mark, I had that question. By the way, you haven't published the windrose script for cumulus, which I believe you are the creator of, right? https://weather.wilmslowastro.com/windrose.php I already have it but I was curious
