Cumulus won't connect to VP2

After using Cumulus successfully for some time, I am trying to move my station to a different computer (XP Home SP3), but Cumulus (1.8.8 881) refuses to recognise my VP2 - I just get the 32701 error message no matter what I try. I have installed the Davis virtual serial port driver, but still nothing. Both VWS and Weatherlink work fine, but I cannot use Cumulus now. Any suggestions?

You've set the same COM port in Cumulus as in Weatherlink? Other than that, I don't know what to suggest. You could attach the latest diags file, it might have some clues.

It's not a lot of help, unfortunately. Error -32701 says that the DLL can't get a response from the station. You're using Weatherlink in serial mode with COM 3 successfully?

That's your problem, I think - you have the station set in USB mode. I can't remember what you have to do to get it into serial mode - I thought it was just a case of selecting serial mode in WL, but maybe not. If WL can't find the serial port, Cumulus isn't going to be able to either.

Maybe the virtual com port driver isn't installed properly - have you tried a reboot? I'm afraid I know very little about USB VP2s, mine's serial.
