Value in realtime.txt
Hello everyone,
I found a translation error in the file: realtime.txt
the value displayed in line 21 --> yearly rainfall <#ryear> displays the value in line 20 monthly rainfall <#rmonth>
or two identical values:
How to correct the value of line 21 --> yearly rainfall <#ryear>?
Which file should I work in?
Thank you for your information.
Sincerely
Michel says Courtil

Re: Value in realtime.txt
I think the specification of what goes in the file is internal. You could create your own realtime file by using a template containing web tags and using the extra files functionality to process it. I would give the file another name if going down this route.

Re: Value in realtime.txt
The source code seems to be correct:
If the value of station.RainYear was incorrect then it would show up elsewhere, such as in the dashboard and in other data files.
Code: Select all
sb.Append(station.presstrendval.ToString(PressTrendFormat, InvC) + ' '); // 19
sb.Append(station.RainMonth.ToString(RainFormat, InvC) + ' '); // 20
sb.Append(station.RainYear.ToString(RainFormat, InvC) + ' '); // 21
sb.Append(station.RainYesterday.ToString(RainFormat, InvC) + ' '); // 22- HansR

Re: Value in realtime.txt
But the result in Coutil's realtime.txt is:
So @courtil must have changed something else: it can't be CMX (it is OK with my site)29/05/24 14:47:40 15.3 94 14.4 1.6 0.0 22 0.0 2.2 1009.9 NNE 1 km/h C hPa mm 29.0 0.0 53.6 53.6 ...

Re: Value in realtime.txt
If you start up CumlusMX, will not #ryear = #rmonth for the first month?

Re: Value in realtime.txt
Yes, but there is a history so that ahouldn't be.
Nevertheless the charts show 366 mm on a single day on 27 may and 29 may (looking on my telephone) so something is wrong.

Re: Value in realtime.txt
So @courtil, could you explain what you did while restarting CMX because it seems you made an error there.
It has nothing to do with realtime.txt, it has to do with the startdate of your series and because you restarted it started with rain = 0.

Re: Value in realtime.txt
Hello everyone ,
I come back to the subject, having had a personal problem, I was not able to follow the thread of the discussion and resolve it
First of all, I thank you very much for your answers.
In the REALTIME file
the variable: yearly rainfall <#ryear> gives me the value 52.4 while the value recorded in: the rain of the day editor of the CUMULUS MX interface gives me 398.4
how to make the modification so that the variable <#ryear> indicates the correct value, i.e. 398.4??
Thank you all for your contribution
Sincerely

Re: Value in realtime.txt
Hi Michel,
Please read the thread and respond to the questions.
Could you also please switch on debug and data logging, restart CMX and post the logfile after some 15 minutes?
OK. Hope you are better now.

Re: Value in realtime.txt
Hi Michel,
I think you upsated to CMX v4 on 14th of May but something went wrong with the conversion. I am not sure what but the format of the dayfile entries from 14/5 and before is different than from 15/5 and later (notably the decimal point before 14/5 and before remains a comma, the converted is a decimal point):
Could you post the conversion log?
You will find that in MXdiags directory and it is named like MigrateData-<yyyyMMdd-hhmmss>.txt
Then - from the logfile - CMX determines the rain totals:but the Year Rain Total is NOT an entry in the dayfile so that has to be calculated from the entries (which will fail because it only reads a few lines because of all the errors).
So the only thing I can advise is to get back to your CMX v3 make sure that is running OK and when it is running OK please run the conversion to v4 again. Wait with a new conversion until I checked your previous conversion log.
Because the field separator and the decimal separator are the same in your case and because you have a history from 2014 I think manual editing is not an option.
If you doubt the working of MigrateData3to4.exe just revert to CMX v3 and wait until Mark is back

Re: Value in realtime.txt
Hello Hans,
Thank you for your answers
I tried to revert to the CMX3 version but it didn't work properly:
error in data transmissions following the new format
unable to transmit due to address encryption
I remain in the latest version of CMX4
apart from the error reported in the variable <#ryear> everything works perfectly
I will wait for an opinion from MARCK if he has time to look into this problem.
Thank you for everything
Sincerely

Re: Value in realtime.txt
You can only revert using a backup (if you still have one).
There is no way to reverse the conversion.
OK.
It will take some time before Marks return though. (some 6 weeks if I understood this well)
