MXv4 FTP Issue?
New to Cumulus so probably made some stupid mistakes in my setup so sorry in advance for the newbie questions...
Best I can tell the index file https://travelingrvwx.com/cumulus/index.htm is updated once when I start Cumulus and then appears to be static with no further updates. I first noticed it with the gauges but I also noticed the main index page is not updating after the inital update. I assume I have an issue in the ftp sequence. Any suggestions one where I need to be looking?

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
Enable debug logging, then post the latest MXdiags log file after running like that for a while.

It is not clear to me exactly what file you want to view. I enabled program debug but do not know where the log data is being written.

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
Just had a quick look and it is complaining that it cannot connect to host. As FTP is failing I wonder if turning on FTP logging might help. If you do this please enable it after starting CumulusMX and disable it prior to closing CumulusMX as there is an as yet unfixed issue with FTP logging and this is the only way to use it (Mark is aware and there will be a fix). It does look like some uploads work like the realtime file.
I assume you can FTP using a client outside of CumulusMX to you hosting site. Do you have a limit on the number of FTP connections on your host?

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
Thanks Stuart...I saw your posts on the other forum and I decided to give Cumulus a try. I agree with your assessment, all the problems seem to stem from ftp issues. I tried to keep the Cumulus sessions to a minimum and not run into the consecutive connections issue with my host but now I'm thinking I should find a cheap host so I can avoid the issue. Feeding 3 sites to one server is probably stretching things. I have noticed that the web page servered from my localhost does not seem to suffer from the same issue so I'm going shopping for a cheap host and try that.
One issue I haven't been able to solve is the error that keeps showing up about a dupkicate entry in the 27th dayfile. I used the built-in editor and found 2 dupes but re-loading the dayfile still reports an error. I'm not sure what triggers the error beside the time, ie. one entry per minute, so if it's using some other parameter I have no idea what it could be. I was hoping there was a log file checker but so far have not found one for Cumulus. Bummer.
Anyways, thanks for the reply. I'll keep diggin and see what I can find...

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
The dayfile should contain one entry per day. Looking at the supplied logfile, you have more than one entry for the 27th. The built-in editor to use is the one under Data Logs -> Dayfile. From your comment "...triggers the error besides time, i.e. one entry per minute..." it looks as if you may be looking at the monthly log file (under Data Logs -> Monthly logs) which does contain several entries per day (depending on your logging interval setting).kj6rgx wrote: ↑Tue 28 May 2024 5:33 pmOne issue I haven't been able to solve is the error that keeps showing up about a dupkicate entry in the 27th dayfile. Now I can get back to the ftp issue(s)...

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
I think I have everything running correctly but I have one error that I can't find the source.
The error is:
D2024-06-02 18:54:35 - LoadDayFile: Found 2 duplicate entries, please correct your dayfile and try again
2024-06-02 18:54:35 - ERROR: Duplicate entry in dayfile for 6/1/2024
2024-06-02 18:54:35 - ERROR: Duplicate entry in dayfile for 5/31/2024
I use cntrl-C to shutdown the terminal window so what causes these duplicate entries? Does it happen every time I restart the terminal?
FWIW, the FTP error appears to have been a conflict with running WD and Cumulus on the same computer. I switched Cumulus to use the php upload routine and I think that has fixed that problem for me.

Re: MXv4 FTP Issue?
You would have to post the log files to look at the duplicate entries issue - it isn't normal.
Good news on the FTP front.
