Data in new version

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Hello everyone ;

I loaded the latest version of CUMULUSMX: Cumulus MX v.4.0.1 build 4023
I cannot find the data in the corresponding month but a file named: 202405log.txt
How to find the original version: Mai24log.txt?
Can you tell me a little more?
THANKS
Sincerely

Bonjour à toutes et à tous ;

Merci
Cordialement

That is the new file name used by V4 which is why you have to convert your old files from V3 before first starting V4.

the instructions for upgrading are here: viewtopic.php?t=22051

you need to read and understand the process of "Converting Data from Cumulus MX v3 to v4" in that link. did you make a copy of the V3 installation?

Personally I stopped v3, then renamed that folder to CumulusMXv3, then created /CumulusMX for the v4 install. then done the conversion from v3 to v4

Good morning ,
I repeat my last message because I still do not obtain the original version, i.e. the clear months April, May, June....
However, I did the conversion as indicated, the data recorded for the months were converted into 202405log.txt?
How to find the original version: Mai24log.txt?
Can you tell me a little more?
THANKS
Sincerely

Once you have run the conversation, the original files will still be in the datav3 folder.

If you followed the instructions to the letter you still have your old data files in the dataV3 folder. They are converted into the new format and placed in the data folder with the new name.

I agree with you in your answer
But I want to keep the original format which is MAY JUNE..
while the new version of CUMULUSMX now stores the data in a file named for this month: 202405log.txt?
What to do if not accept this format.....
or go back to the old version
Thank you for your messages

If you still have your V3 files intact you can keep running it as before but in my mind the new format makes much more sense and is universal in all languages. Also if you need the old format name you could write a script to copy them back to the old name periodically but bear in mind that all V4 data goes in the new format and that cannot be changed.

I'll leave Mark to comment on how long V3 may be supported for.
